Report: 2 Year Old Dies After Choking At New Orleans Preschool Center

A Church Point woman died Wednesday after an all-terrain vehicle crash on La. 370 in Acadia Parish, according to State Police.

Taylor Chapman, 20, succumbed to her injuries sustained in the Tuesday crash, according to a Friday news release from State Police.

Police said 19-year-old Casey Lavergne, of Church Point, was driving the 2008 Kawasaki ATV around 6:30 p.m. near St. Clair Road when he traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a small street sign, knocking him off the four-wheeler.

Chapman remained on the vehicle as it continued traveling forward, striking a ditch embankment before overturning and ejecting her, police said.

Both were hospitalized, but Chapman later died from her injuries.

Impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash, although police said its cause remains under investigation.
